Winner Winner Chicken Dinner-Week 3

[Note-completed before Week 3 but I forgot to publish them.  Besides, if I were going to cheat, I would have given myself a better record than sub-500 going into tonight].  Going into this week, we have accumulated a 14-15-1 which when you consider that we are betting on every single game, is not bad.  But in SJ’s endless pursuit for perfection, we’re looking to get back to our winning ways this week.

In our first week we went 8-7, certainly respectable when trying to bet every game ATS, but not what we ideally want.  This week, we’re looking to go at least 9-6 and I think we can.  So on to the picks:

What a first week in the NFL!

Football season is back!  Thank God because I was getting really sick of watching my Giants hit worse than the Bad News Bears on a nightly basis.  Unfortunately for me, with football season, also comes watching the Niners play worse than the Little Giants before they run the play called the Annexation of Puerto Rico.  What a brutal game to watch.  Even though we must be careful not to overreact to week 1 (Michael Turner will never do that again…the Lions are just that bad), there are some thing we can take away from the first weekend.

So my good friend the Big Ticket chose five games this week straight up, against the spread (ATS), and over/under (O/U) but that is not enough for me.  I am a gambler, pure and simple.  I play a ton of online poker (don’t buy into the fact that poker isn’t gambling…anytime you put money into the middle with a risk of luck ruining it for you, you are gambling) and I like to pick a couple of sports bets each week where I like the value.  Normally I would never bet each of these games and instead pick a couple of my favorites but for the sake of proving I am smarter than most sports analysts, I will pick each game ATS.  So enjoy the ride as I try to hit a very aggressive 60% target.
